Mamavation Monday: First 5K!
Yesterday I ran in my first 5K ever! It was a holiday family fun run/fitness walk, so the whole family came along! It was tough, I am not a runner. I think I like the idea of running more than I actually like running. I'm hoping if I get out and run more that I will enjoy it as much as I think I do, haha! We finished in 41:55, which i'm not really proud of. We did have my 3 year old who was in and out of the stroller a few times, wanting to run and then getting tired, but i'm not really sure my time would have been much better without him there.
I also completed week 1 of the 2 week challenge this week. This has been my favorite of all the challenges! They really did a great job putting it together. Needless to say, I've been pretty sore all week long, but it's that good kinda sore. I feel great!
Oh and I also joined a gym. This is my first ever gym membership!!
How does your family support your weight loss efforts?
I have already lost close to 25 pounds and have been focusing my efforts more on getting into shape now rather than losing more weight. My family has been very supportive. My husband doing the 5K with me yesterday was huge! My mother and two of my girlfriends who had babies recently really encouraged me to join the gym and my sister is always willing to do any sort of outdoor activity with me! I am so thankful to have such a great support system here and of course I always have my mamavation sista's online!
