Mamavation Monday: So Long Sickies

Well, let's start off with some good news... I lost 8 lbs. last week. I would love to tell some great story about how I was eating and exercising like a champ and I could literally see fat melting off of my body. However, that would be a huge lie. I had the most horrendous flu ever. It lasted for 6 very long days and for 4 of those days my husband was on a business trip and I had to take care of my boys and my niece and had very little time to take care of myself. It was quite awful but I am feeling so much better, I just have some residual junk knocking around in my head.

So this week is a new week, my husband now has "the plague" since he is the third person to have gotten it we know how to tackle it a little bit better. I am excited to restart my training for the 5K at the end of May and I am determined to keep the weight off that I lost with the flu. However, I am not going out running today, it is raining and it seems a little bit silly to go out for a run in the rain after I am just starting to feel better. I might hit up the gym later and go on the elliptical for a bit.

I hope everyone has a great week!

  1. You lost 8 lbs. because of the flu? Wow, that is a lot of weight...in one week? Do you think most of it was water?

    1. I'm pretty sure it was mostly water. It was like the worst flu ever, I was actually a little startled when I got on the scale and saw how much I had lost!

  6. I'm glad you're starting to feel better! That's certainly not the most fun way to lose weight, but I wish you luck in keeping it off!

  7. Flu weight loss is NO FUN and WOW - I hate how viruses tackle the whole family one by one... wouldn't it be nice if you could say ok virus, I'll take you this week if you PROMISE to hit everyone else at once and then leave us... I'm glad you are feeling better :)
