I love hiking! This was taken from a hike a couple months ago I went on with my little one in tow!

My 3 and a half year old is an iPad enthusiast so when I was given the opportunity to review a new app for kids I knew we had to do it!
I downloaded the app onto the iPad and put it into my son’s folder. One of the things I noticed right away was that the icon for Mobile Mum was very simple, it’s cute but it’s not as flashy as any of the other icons for apps that he has. But, when he picked up the iPad he noticed the new app right away and went went right to it.
Mobile Mum is a safe way for kids to watch a variety of their favorite video’s on your iphone, ipad, android, tv or computer.
One of my son’s favorite things to do on the iPad is watch videos so this app was perfect for him! I only had to show him how to use it one time before he was able to do it on his own. He just had to click on the logo of the show he wanted and then screen shots of different episodes come up and he clicks on the one he wants! Also, when it starts up it starts playing a random video, so he was able to find new shows that he liked that he may not have chosen to watch before. I loved that it was safe for him to use, when he watches video’s on youtube, I have to watch him like a hawk. This I knew I could trust and he wouldn’t stumble upon anything that he shouldn’t be watching.
It currently includes videos from:
- The Cat in the Hat Knows a lot About That
- Sid the Science Kid
- Richard Scarry’s Busytown Mysteries
- Jim Henson’s Pajanimals
- Mighty Machines
- Noonbury and the Super 7
- Dive Olly Dive!
- Chloe’s Closet
- Animal Atlas
- Dino Dan
- Yo Gabba Gabba Live
It looks like they are always working on adding more video’s and games too!
This is definitely going to be great for long car trips, sitting in the waiting room or even a little distraction so I can get some housework done!
I received a free trial of mobile mum in exchange for a review, all opinions are my own.

I had a great week! I love when the weather is nice and I get to spend time with my family. I’ve just been working on my workout challenges and getting ready for the 5K this weekend!! I really want to be able to run the whole thing but, I won’t be disappointed if I can’t. I don’t want to go crazy trying to push myself this week to get up to the 3.1 miles because I am scared I will over train and get sick and not be able to go at all!
Here is where I am at with my challenges:
C25K – finished through week 6 day 2
100 Pushups – finished through week 3 day 1
Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred – finished week 1
100 Day Burpee Challenge – finished 11/8/11 !

I conquered the first 20 minute run on C25K and I think I earned the right to say, “I am a runner.” It was such a great feeling when I finished. The whole time I focused on my breathing, my pace and my foot placement. I learned that running had a lot to do with mind over matter. I kept thinking about how much I wanted to be able to get home and tell my mamavation sista’s that “I made it.” I ran 1.79 miles with a pace of 11:10 (I love technology!) A little more than half way to a 5K, but I’m getting there!
I had a great Mother’s Day yesterday, we spent it celebrating my son’s first birthday with a pirate party! I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
I’m excited about mamavation tv tonight and hearing about camping. Our family loves camping but I could definitely use some tips for camping with the little ones!
I took this picture when we were camping last year, we borrowed a pop-up camper and this is my son looking out the window at the sunrise one morning.
Here is where I am at in my challenges and I decided to add my burpee challenge that I completed to the list because, well, I’m pretty darn proud of it! I also plan on keeping the other challenges on the list once they are done too!
C25K – finished through week 6 day 1
100 Pushups – finished through week 2 day 3
Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred – finished through week 1 day 4
100 Day Burpee Challenge – finished 11/8/11 !

Today we celebrated Ty’s first birthday with a pirate party! I really enjoy cooking and baking for people and being creative but I usually bite off more than I can chew and really stress myself out! So this time I started prepping way in advance and made a lot of stuff that could be prepared ahead of time. I didn’t let myself get too overwhelmed this time, even though I was just finishing up as people were arriving.
It was a gorgeous day today and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my baby’s 1st birthday and Mother’s Day!
For appetizer’s I made these caprese skewers on pirate sword toothpicks:
Then for lunch we had lasagna, ham, seaside potato salad, tossed salad, fruit salad, garlic bread & Italian bread. (Sorry, no pictures!!)
I set up a table for the picky little kids with PB&J sandwiches on goldfish bread, pirate’s booty, juice boxes and some pirate swag.
For desert I made some cake pop ice cream cones, brownie pops & mint chocolate chip cup cakes.
Since it was so nice out, we moved the celebrations outside! The birthday boy approved :)
I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day!

I can't believe my baby boy turned one today! This year has seriously flown by so quickly. I've been so busy all day prepping for his party tomorrow but I wanted to put up a quick post.
Here I am last year at 40 weeks 2 days. Five days before he was born!
And here is my sweet boy, fresh out of the oven!
It’s been a fun, exhausting year and I can’t wait to continue watching him grow. (As long as it doesn’t go by too fast!!!)

The other night while I was sound asleep, sometime in between the every-two-hour wake ups from my teething boy, I was having a bad dream. It involved characters from two of my guilty pleasures, the t.v. show “Revenge” and the book “Fifty Shades of Grey” (yes, I jumped on that bandwagon and am so happy I did!) There was nothing hot or sexy about the dream though, it was just your average billionaire death match and some how I was caught in the middle.
So, there I was, hiding out in a dressing room of a posh store from a gun man. Then, all of a sudden I was startled awake. My husband was sitting up in bed, leaning over me and saying, “He’s standing up.” I just laid there for a minute trying to figure out what was going on. First I thought, is he having some sort of psychic connection to someone who is standing up? And then I thought, is my three year old in our room standing next to the bed? I love the kid but if he was standing silently by our bed in the middle of the night I would be a little creeped out!
I mustered up the strength to find my voice and said, “Huh?” and once again he says, “He’s standing up.”
Then, things started to get a little less cloudy. I realized that he was sitting up and leaning over me to look at the video monitor, the baby was standing up in his crib. I had to laugh at myself, I was so out of it! It’s amazing what lack of sleep does to you.
Do you have any funny stories that happened as a result of being up with your baby?

I’ve had a busy week preparing for my baby’s 1st birthday this coming weekend. I can’t believe he’s going to be one! Yesterday I took him for his first haircut and he looks like such a big boy now. We’ve been cleaning up our yard and our house preparing for his party, we even got a hand-me-down swing set and tore down our hideous old shed. I can’t wait to see the house and yard all cleaned up nice!
I didn’t have a whole lot of time to work on my exercise challenges but I did get a few workouts in. I also didn’t start the boot camp class yet, apparently everyone else was as nervous about it as I was and it has gotten pushed off. I decided that if we don’t start it by June I am just going to start it on my own since I have already paid for it!
I am very happy to say that the night I was supposed to start the boot camp class I went to the gym to do 5K on the elliptical and I finished the 3.1 miles in 29 minutes! This is a new personal best for me, the fastest I’ve ever done it before was 34 minutes. I was so excited and I am really looking forward to the 5K I’m running at the end of the month and the mamavation 5K at the end of June.
Here’s where I’m at with my challenges:
C25K finished through Week 5 Day 2 – the next time I do it I have to run for 20 minutes straight…somebody hold me!!!
hundred pushups finished through Week 2 Day 2 – I’m up to 16 push ups (and those are regular man-like pushups! lol)
Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred finished through Week 1 Day 4 – I’m having a hard time finding the time to do this but I will get it done!

My little man’s hair was getting a little bit long and a little bit crazy.
So today we headed out to our favorite kid’s haircutting place, Snip-it’s for his first hair cut!
First, we watched his big brother get his hair cut, he was thrilled about being there.
Then, it was time for Ty. He wasn’t so thrilled, he cried the whole time. But the nice lady who was cutting his hair gave him a little toy and that made him happy for a second!
Then, we came home and had some nice sweet strawberries to cheer us up! (Yes, I needed cheering up too!) Isn’t he so handsome?!
Such a big boy!

I decided to change things up a bit around here, I purchased my very first domain and changed the name of my blog!
When I first started this blog and named it "Mealtime With Cole" it was to talk about how my son is a terribly picky eater and my journey to trying to get him to eat better. Well guess what? That got kind of boring and the more I obsess about what he eats, the less he eats and the more stressed I get!
So anyways, I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful husband that I love going on "adventures" with and writing about our life is a whole lot more appealing to me than stressing out about my three year old's picky pallet!
I hope you enjoy and will continue reading :)
