Mamavation Monday

mondaysgraphicwbrown1

I’ve had a busy week preparing for my baby’s 1st birthday this coming weekend.  I can’t believe he’s going to be one!  Yesterday I took him for his first haircut and he looks like such a big boy now.  We’ve been cleaning up our yard and our house preparing for his party, we even got a hand-me-down swing set and tore down our hideous old shed.  I can’t wait to see the house and yard all cleaned up nice!

I didn’t have a whole lot of time to work on my exercise challenges but I did get a few workouts in.  I also didn’t start the boot camp class yet, apparently everyone else was as nervous about it as I was and it has gotten pushed off.  I decided that if we don’t start it by June I am just going to start it on my own since I have already paid for it!

I am very happy to say that the night I was supposed to start the boot camp class I went to the gym to do 5K on the elliptical and I finished the 3.1 miles in 29 minutes! This is a new personal best for me, the fastest I’ve ever done it before was 34 minutes.  I was so excited and I am really looking forward to the 5K I’m running at the end of the month and the mamavation 5K at the end of June.

Here’s where I’m at with my challenges:

C25K finished through Week 5 Day 2 – the next time I do it I have to run for 20 minutes straight…somebody hold me!!!

hundred pushups finished through Week 2 Day 2 – I’m up to 16 push ups (and those are regular man-like pushups! lol)

Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred finished through Week 1 Day 4 – I’m having a hard time finding the time to do this but I will get it done!

This post is sponsored by Dole and hosted by Mamavation – a community dedicated to obesity prevention & weight loss for women and I’m writing this to be entered into a giveaway

  2. I remember the first haircut I gave my boys. My mom was crying in the background and I was watching thinking...this is it...he's growing up. :)

  3. Awesome about hitting 3.1 miles in 29 minutes - that's fast! I've never been fast at the 5K and defnitely not there now either 6 months after my wee girl. I'm looking forward to the virtual 5K as well :)

  5. Lady, you are KILLING those challenges! The C25K is kicking my butt right now. I just can't seem to get started on Week 4 - every time I start the week 4 run, I just can't do the 4 minute run. GEEZ! Way to go!

  8. Oh man, first haircuts...I'm not ready for that. My oldest boy was 15 months old, but this baby was born with so much more hair! It sounds like quite a workout to get ready for this party. Have a great B day!
