Last weekend while I was hiking with my sister to celebrate her birthday, my 3 year old was spending the day with his “Gaga”. “Gaga” is the nickname he gave my mom when he started talking and it has stuck, in fact my sister and I now refer to her as “Gaga” and she refers to herself as “Old Lady Gaga”. Lol!
Anyways, back to the story, while he was there he found an old dollhouse that had belonged to my sister and I when we were little. My mom built it for us one year for Christmas, a beautiful blue farmhouse. They cleaned it up and ordered some new furniture on Etsy. (He thought it was going to pop out of the computer once they ordered it!!)
We went to her house for dinner last night and the furniture had come in and my boys had a great time playing with it. The 3 year old set up furniture and the 1 year old drove cars all over it! I loved seeing it again and it made me think of when I was little and I would spend hours setting up furniture and rearranging it. I always wanted to live in a house just like it. Mostly because it had stairs and the house I grew up in did not!
Do you have a toy from your childhood that your kids play with today? Or is there a toy you wish you still had for your kids to play with?
