Mamavation Monday: Good-bye 2012!

mondaysgraphicwbrown1

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! I hope you all had a great 2012.  I am happy to say that I have been really freakin’ proud of myself on more than one occasion this year.  I faced a lot of fears and learned that I can be a strong person if I just work at it.  I tried so many new things that I was scared of and learned that I loved them!

I always loved the idea of running, this year I made running a reality for me.  I participated in 6 different 5Ks and plan on doing 13 in 2013!

I tried kayaking, zip-lining, rock climbing, and cross-fit! I even climbed the tallest mountain…(in CT that is!) If I want my boys to be confident and open to trying new things, I have to set an example.  I can’t let my fears control me.  I learned that failing is okay.  Not even trying is way worse than failing.

I can’t wait to see what 2013 has in store for us!

  5. What an amazing 2012! Good luck in 2013. 13 5ks sounds like a great idea! I'm facing my fear of success. I know -> I'm so weird but I'm more afraid of succeeding than failing. Not in 2013!

  7. you're an inspiration to me. I fell in love with running this past year but never got to run a full race before I hurt myself. I hope to do at least one 5k race and one 10k race. Hopefully following you will kick me into gear.

  11. I am so going to live vicariously through you for the first 6 months of this year. I am itching to run again even though I DEPLORE it. :) Good luck with your 13 in 2013!

  12. Awesome job! I have a lot of irrational fears about things and I am really working to let them go. It's super scary! I want to eventually participate in a triathlon, but I am really afraid of swimming in open water. That's one of my goals this year is to get better at swimming!

  13. I love those pictures, and what you said about setting a good example! I'm right there with you...I hope that my kids see that I'm having fun being more active, and that I'm better able to have fun with them when I'm healthy!

  14. Good luck on 13 in 13 and keep on being awesome! My fears to face... mostly honesty and things about myself I try to put on the backburner. I am looking forward to a challenging year.
