Homemade Jewelry Cleaner

When it comes to my every day jewelry, I am not easy on it.  I am always wearing at least a necklace and earrings, whether I am working out, showering or working outside. They’re on.

I noticed it was all starting to turn black and dingy, but every time I went to the store, I forgot to buy jewelry cleaner.  So, I turned to google. I found a great recipe for it on food.com and it worked like a charm!

I lined a bowl with aluminum foil (it doesn’t have to be perfect, obviously!) Then, on top I put:

  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon dish soap

I poured 1 cup of hot water (I microwaved it for 2 minutes) over the top, gave it a little stir and then dropped my jewelry in for 10 minutes.

I pulled the jewelry out and gave it a quick brush down with an old toothbrush and then rinsed it off under the faucet…. and VOILA!

Clean jewelry, easy, peasy.
