Disclosure: I was invited to Foxwoods to see Menopause the Musical, as always all opinions are my own.
Friday was easily one of the most fun days of my life! My sister and I headed up to Foxwoods Resort Casino in the afternoon for an overnight stay. We were checked-in quickly by the friendly staff and pointed in the direction of our room in The Fox Tower. We opened the door and we were immediately blown away by the view.
A beautiful forest, as far as the eye could see! It was something you would expect at the end of a long hike! And, if we looked straight down, we could see our next destination – The Fox Tower Pool- where Liquid Sundays takes place.
We scored some chairs right in the water and ordered some frozen drinks – a raspberry lemonade and The Blue Fox (a pina colada with blue curacao.) I was in Heaven!
After our super relaxing afternoon, we headed back up to the room to get ready for dinner at David Burke Prime. David Burke Prime features a contemporary steakhouse menu with meats handpicked by Chef David Burke himself, and dry-aged on the premises in a salt-tiled aging room.
Everything about our dinner was amazing. The specialty cocktails (A Summer Sangria and a Dirty Double Cross Martini), the cow-hide booths, the excellent service, the classic rock playing in the background and the food. O.M.G. the food. I think it took us a good half an hour to decide what we wanted to order because we wanted EVERYTHING!!!
I finally decided on the surf & turf special for the night – a Petite Bronx bone-in filet with a lobster served out of the shell served with asparagus and short-rib risotto. I literally almost cried it was so delicious! My sister ordered a grilled lobster and was also very happy. Oh, and did I mention they served pop-overs instead of bread before dinner? I freaking love pop-overs and haven’t had a good one in so long! Then, they brought over cotton candy with our check – how fun!
Afterwards we headed over to The Fox Theatre for Menopause the Musical! Now, I have to admit, although I am a huge fan of the arts and truly enjoy and appreciate live entertainment, I was a little bit skeptical that I would really relate to the show having not gone through “the change” myself. I was quickly proven wrong. The show was HILARIOUS! I loved all the parodies of hit songs they did. My sister and I had huge smiles plastered on our faces and we were cracking up the whole 90 minutes. These women were great! They could act, they could sing, they had great comedic timing and were awesome at interacting with the audience! They even invited all the ladies who had gone through “the change” up on stage at the end to join them in a kick line. What a great experience. Even the men in the audience were enjoying themselves!
Menopause The Musical®, now in its thirteenth year of production, is recognized as the longest--‐running scripted production in Las Vegas and continues to entertain nightly at Luxor Hotel and Casino. We ended our night with a cocktail at Paragon, located on the top of the Grand Peqout Tower. They were getting ready to close but the staff was friendly and fun. It was the perfect way to end our perfect day!
